(Warning! contains minor spoilers, certain parts of the review would refer to prior knowledge after the events of season 1)

Konbanwa, Today I will be reviewing one of KyoAni's masterpieces, Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! but i will be focusing the review more on the movie.

Over the span of two seasons, I would say the development of the two main characters, Yuta and Rikka has really built the up to the moments of the movie. The chemistry of these two is rarely seen in any other romance anime, they have this unique relationship where it is very different from normal couples. The way the story approaches the concept of chuunibyou and romance together as one really melts your heart and it just makes you come back for more.

Leading into the events of the movie, there are just so many unexpected happenings in the movie, it just keeps you guessing on what is going to happen next. The whole journey they took, the decisions they made, the whole experience was just so mesmerizing to watch. Their journey has lead to some unexpected developments and it has really brought their relationship a step further that before.

The whole series in general, reminds the freedom of choices back in our youth, not bound by the expectations that is place by the ever judgemental society. And this movie shows us exactly that, two immature high schoolers going places in a flash of decisions, living the most out their youth. Adding chunnibyou into the mix, it just feels the world is so limitless for them, a world filled with imagination. It makes you wonder about the cruel reality we are in, and just how different things would be in this chunnibyou world filled with imagination.

Overall, the movie was one heck of a roller coaster ride of emotions, and it will definitely be one of those anime that will have that special place in my heart for the many years to come.

It has been truly a sad past day for the anime community. Yesterday (July 18, 2019), Kyoto Animation's studio was lighted up on fire by a 41 year old man, which has so far killed 33 people and many injured. Even after waking up today, it still shocks me that someone would do something like that to the studio.

Over the years, they have made so many great series and movies. They have inspired the anime industry with new art styles, unique ways story telling, lovable character personalities. It has really impacted each and every one of us anime fans one way or another.

We will never forget the works KyoAni has done that has changed the anime industry, It has been truly a wonderful journey. It will definitely never be the same again for survivors of the incident but I hope for best for their recovery and I offer my condolences to the family of those who have passed. Lastly, to the survivors of the incident, I hope you stay strong and one day continue to inspire people again.

P.S. If you wish the support KyoAni and help them recover you can buy their online wallpaper at their official store, https://kyoani.shop-pro.jp/ or you can support the fund raiser started by Sentai Filmworks at https://www.gofundme.com/help-kyoani-heal

(Japanese Title: Doukyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue)

Konnchiwa! It has been almost 2 years since I wrote an anime review. This is an anime that just came last season of Winter 2019. I have watched it till episode 7 on the time of writting and I find it very enjoyable. Without futher ado, let's get into the review.

Story

So this anime is about a introverted guy named Subaru and his cat, Haru. A cat. No, not a cat girl, no gimmicks or whatsoever. Just a cat. The story goes about how Subaru warms up with his new found cat, as he faces challenges along the way on how to raise a cat, which he has no idea of.

I would say Sabaru as a character can be quite interesting. Being introverted, he does not know how to interact with people and also animals of his surroudings, but as the series goes on, he genuinely tries his best not to screw up interactions with others, but sometimes he just tries to run away from the situation. Quite interesting to watch I would say.

Another interesting point of this show is that the second half of each episode features the events of the episode from the Haru's perpective, which is pretty cute I would say. At times, she would try to help Subaru through his daily life and Subaru ends up misunderstanding her actions. It's pretty entertaining to see what they have in each other's minds and how they interpret one another being a human and a cat.

On side note, Haru, being a cat also hit the the the top number one spot on anitrendz.net top female characters charts, which is pretty impressive for a cat xD.

I would say the story is pretty wholesome overall, I'll give it a 10/10 for storyline.

Art and Animation

The art is quite simple but it also nice. The animation isn't fantastic, though it is kept at its minimal, it does have enough movement to convey the message and it has good use of transition to make up for the lack of movement. I'll give an 8/10 for art and animation.

Overall I would say it's a pretty wholesome and relaxing anime. I do recommend it for those who find some good anime to watch after a long and tired day from school or work. Overall rating 9/10.
